Family Video 2011

Here is a video of our family this year. I know I have been aweful at keeping up with our blog.
So just a quick update...we are still in San Angelo, TX...I am 18 weeks pregnant with our 3rd baby which is a BOY!! We are so excited to be adding another sweet baby boy to our family! Arlie is getting so big! She is loving kindergarten and she has made some great friends here. She is doing gymnastics and she loves it. Deacon is 3 now and he goes to a program called Kids day out on Tuesday's and Thursdays from 8:45 to 1:30 at one of the local baptist churches. He loves it and is learning so much. I am enjoying having 2 days to myself to get caught up with work and do whatever I need to do. I know it won't last long but I will enjoy it while I can. I have been working like crazy this past year and that is why my blog has suffered so much. Planning on cutting back a lot this year and focusing more on my family. Josh is working his guts out here. He has been working 50-60 hours a week for the past 6 months. Hopefully he will be able to get some relief soon. Since Christmas break he has been coming home around 5 which has been such a nice change. Hopefully it stays that way. But with all this work he has been doing he has scored an awesome evaluation that we are hoping will get him promoted to Sr. Chief this June. Number 6 out of 125 Sailors in his career field. We are so proud of him!

We had a really nice Christmas this year. It was so fun to see the kids get so excited about Christmas this year. We also got to have Josh's mom come out for Christmas and it was fun to have someone come visit. We went to the Great Wolf Lodge for a couple days during the break and it was a lot of fun. Well I know this isn't much of an update but at least it is something.

Deacon's ABC's

Deacon's learning how to sing the abc song and he is so cute! I am just loving every minute of him right now and I sure don't want him to grow up any more. He turned 2 in November. Everyday he comes up with something new to say. So fun. Seriously the best 2 year old ever! Crossing my fingers hoping that doesn't change.

Christmas 2010

We had such a wonderful Christmas this year. It was so much fun seeing our kids excitement and experiencing Christmas again through our children. We stayed in Texas this year and enjoyed a nice relaxing Christmas break. Then had some friends over for dinner that evening.
We missed our family back home in Idaho but it was nice for our family to have our own Christmas this year. We wanted to send a special thank you out to all of our family that sent us gifts!!! You are awesome! We love you and we are so thankful for everything! It was more than enough and we are very greatful for the fun gifts you sent.

Labor Day Weekend

We had a great time visiting old friends in Alamogordo, New Mexico over the holiday weekend. We stayed with our friends Josh and Melissa and got to catch up on old times. The six of us were all friends when we lived in Japan together before we all had kids.

We had a really fun visit and the high light of the trip was going to White Sands National Park which is really close to where they live. It was a lot of fun and the kids had a blast sledding and playing in the sand. Thanks for letting us come visit you guys!

We went out last night to celebrate and enjoyed a yummy dinner at a place called The Grill and then went to the movies and saw Dinner for Schmucks. It was hilarious!

Here are some pics of our new house as well as pics of the kids. Arlie just finished her swim lessons for the season and loved it! The pics were taken with my little camera hence the poor quality of images. I had my first photoshoot here in Texas last week and I found out that my camera is not working. I am going to have to send it in to canon to get it fixed. That really stresses me out! I hope they can fix it. But luckily I have a backup camera so we got some awesome images. Hopefully things start to pick up now. I got Arlie registered for pre-k starting in 2 weeks. She is very excited. It's gonna kill me though. The kids and I have not been waking up till 8-8:30 lately and now her school starts at 7:30 so I am going to have to get them up by at least 6:30. I am not looking forward to the early mornings. Well I know we are way far behind when it comes to blogging and so I figured I'd better do somthing about it. I guess the thing that has been holding me back from posting anything is not having or wanting to deal with getting pictures ready to post as well. But today I decided it is finally time to write something. No pictures today but I will upload some soon and show some pictures of what we have been up to. So far Texas is good. We are all settled into our rental home that we LOVE. I think a lot about whether you like a place or not has to do with two things. Where you live, and whether you have good friends. Those two things can make or break a place for you. So so far we are off to a good start on liking this place. Hopefully the good friends will come too. We have been spending a lot of time at the base pool with some other people in our ward and that has been fun for me and the kids. Wednesday mornings they have a play group at an awesome park here in town and I went last week and the kids had a blast. I will have to take pictures this week so you all can see how awesome this park is.
We have seen a few tiranchulas since we have been here. Two crossing our street and a few others on some other roads. Both Josh and Arlie have now been attacked by fire ants...Josh while mowing our lawn and Arlie stepped in an ant pile at the park. She scrame bloody murder!
The kids are adjusting well to the new place. Once in a while Arlie will say she misses her friends back in MD but for the most part she has done surprisingly well. I really miss my friends. I wonder if I will ever make as good of friends as I had there. I have a really hard time establishing close relationships with my friends. It's hard for me to really open up to people most of the time. But I had some really great friends there that I REALLY clicked with. I don't know how often you find friends like that. But for now I am going to try and be optimistic and open minded about everyone I meet.

Anyway, on to other things. We had a really great time visiting family in Idaho. I ended up staying there extra long almost two months because we found out my older brother was getting married. So I decided to just stay instead of drive back with Josh and then turn around 3 weeks later to come back. So because of that I got to go to my 10 year reunion that I didn't think I would be able to go to. It was a lot of fun to see everyone again and see how much some had changed and how others I could catch up with like no time had passed at all. My brother's wedding was amazing. I haven't felt that much joy and excitement for a wedding since my own. I am so happy for Travis and his beautiful wife Ashley. She is going to be an awesome addition to our family. Their wedding was gorgeous! I got to photograph all of it and we got some amazing pictures. I will post some of those soon too.
We had an awesome 4th holiday. Josh flew back for the holiday and we spent the day at the parade in the morning and a BBQ with my brother Scott and his wife and family. Then we enjoyed the fireworks together down by the river in IF. I swear I haven't seen a better firework show anywhere else. Deacon LOVED it! Everytime a firework would go off he would yell WOW!! WOW!!! WOWOW!!! Arlie loved it too of course. And it was so nice to be there together as a family ejoying it. It was the first time Josh and I have been together for the 4th of July since Arlie was 1.

Some updates with the kids. I took Arlie in for her 4 year check up and she was amazing. She asked me if she could go to the doctor and I told her well we actually do need to take you in for your 4 year check up but you are going to have shots. She said yay for shots! Which I thought was weird. But she was exceptional for the doctor and really good for the shots too. She barely cried. Then she had to show off her Dora bandaids to everyone she saw. She has grown a few inches in the past month so good for her! She is now 39 inches tall and I think 28.5 lbs. She is now 35% for height when she was only 10% last year and 3% for weight. The doctor since it was her first time seeing her was a little concerned with her weight so she wants me to start supplimenting her with carnation instant breakfast daily and then see her again in 6 months. We'll see if it helps.
As far as Deacon goes...he has started talking a lot more lately. It seems like every day he comes up with something new. His new word today was open. When he wanted me to open his fruit snack he handed it to me and said open over and over again till I finally opened it. He is cuter than ever and I just can't seem to get enough of him. He finally said I love you the other day along with good morning. It is so fun to hear all those words. Also this boy is getting DARK down here in Texas. He is my little brown baby with white hair. And those baby blues just melt me.
Well that's just about all of what we have been up to for the past few months. I am sure I have forgotten a lot of the little details but oh well. I am sure you have heard enough from me if you are in fact still reading this. Love you all and miss you all so much!

Snowed In!!!

So we had the largest storm ever recorded here in MD this past weekend and we are still trying to recover from it. The kids and I decided to spend the weekend snowed in with my friend Maren since both our hubby's are gone and it would be less lonely. I am so glad we did. We had a lot of fun together and it was sure nice for the kids to be able to play together as well. I am still shocked at how much snow there is!!! I have never seen anything like it. Now we are supposed to get another foot of snow tomorrow. Man where is Josh in times like this?! I wish I could at least talk to him and let him know what is going on. Luckily I live in a good location with awesome neighbors who shoveled out my driveway for me as well as shoveled out our street since the plows didn't come through. There are still lots of people snowed in who cannot get out. It's kindof a scary thing. It sure makes me think of how much more I need to prepare our family for things like this. My sweet baby boy turned one years old yesterday. I can't believe it has come and gone already. We didn't do much this year with Josh being gone and all but I managed to get some cute first year pictures of him. The darn kid wouldn't sit down for more than two seconds to eat his cake. He just wanted to stand and eat it so this is what I got. Also I thought I would add some pictures from the day he was born.

We had a really great halloween this year even though Josh wasn't here to celebrate with us. Arlie had so much fun trick or treating and Deacon just looked adorable in his little puppy dog costume. Oh and doesn't Alyssa look great too? She made her costume herself for her own fun costume party.

It's been a while

So I know it has almost been a month since my last post. I know that is pretty bad. I swear I feel like I have no time to do anything. I have been swamped with work lately, Josh is gone and who knows when he will return, and my calling is keeping me really busy lately as well. Every day I swear I don't sit down until around 9:00 at night.
So anyways back to blogging. Deacon turns one on Monday can you believe it!!! He has turned into such a big boy and is starting to lose some of his baby features. Honestly if feels like yesterday that I had him. So here are some pictures of what we have been up to. We went with some friends to Summer's Farm again this year. It was a blast as always. I am really going to miss our fun tradition when we move to Texas. I wonder if they have anything like that there. Arlie had even more fun this year and Deacon enjoyed being outside although he was not a fan of the slide. In fact he was terrified.
We had such a great time and we are going to miss all of our dear friends when we leave.

So much to post

It has been so long that it is hard to remember all the details of everything I would like to post about. I guess first of all Josh and I went on a cruise to the Bahamas two weeks ago and it was AWESOME!!! It was so nice to get away just the two of us and enjoy just being together without kids. Don't get me wrong I love my kids but it is so nice to get away once in a while. We ate a ton of delicious food, watched a few comic shows, went to COCOCAY, Royal Caribbean's private island, and to Nassau. We snorkeled, laid out, rode a fun water slide, sat in the hot tub, body surfed, and just enjoyed taking a nap on the beach. It was so worth it and look forward to the next time we go on a cruise. It will definitely not be our last. Surprisingly I didn't take as many pictures as I thought I would. And actually when we went to Nassau I only took one picture because after that I put it back on the boat so I wouldn't have to worry about it getting stolen. So here are pictures from our awesome vacation.

Sunrise the morning we pulled into port. Sadly this was the only sunrise we caught and we didn't see one sunset. But man was it beautiful!

We also recently went to the Khaki Ball. I was in charge of taking pictures at it and it ended up being a pretty successful night for us. Here is a picture I had someone take of us while we were there. Tomorrow night we are going to the Navy Ball.

And finally we may have orders coming our way. We heard from the detailer tonight that they plan on sending us back to San Angelo, Texas! We don't have orders yet so it is not set in stone but it is looking like that is where we will be going. Surprisingly I am ok with it. Ever since we left there I haven't wanted to go back but I think it will be a different experience this time. I guess we will see. I am getting excited though.

Tomorrow is my sweet husband's birthday and I just wanted to let him know how much I love him and appreciate him and all that he does for our family. You are awesome and I honestly don't know what I would do without you. I would be a hot mess I am sure. You are definitely my better half and I am so greatful for that. Happy 29th birthday sweetie!

In other news, Deacon has been walking more and more lately. I finally got a little video of the action. He is now 10 months old:
he says ma ma, dada, baba, gaga. He likes to click his tongue. He loves music and likes to dance. He is seriously the happiest baby ever and he is so much fun. He is always laughing.

In Arlie news, She started part day pre-school last week. It is everyday from 9-12 and she totally loves it!!! She also started soccer on saturday mornings with her friend and our neighbor Sebastian. So far they have only had one practice but she is enjoying it. It is so much fun to see her grow and develop.

In my news- I have been keeping myself pretty busy with my photography business. I just shot a wedding and I have a few other shoots I am working on editing so I am pretty busy right now with that. I am still doing weight watchers and as of last friday I have lost 16 pounds!!! I am totally stoked and still motivated to keep going. Weight Watchers Rocks!!!

6 Years

Josh and I celebrated our 6th Anniversary this past weekend. I can't believe how fast the time has gone by. I love him more and more each year that goes by. I feel so blessed to have such a great husband who loves me for who I am and completes me. He is such a good dad and he helps me out so much. Thanks honey for all you do! I love you.
For our anniversary we started out our day by running a 10K together. We haven't ran a race together for a few years. As we started out, we were running together. I thought he must be being nice to me since it was our anniversary. But I just had the urge to go faster. Soon I was 20 feet then 50 feet ahead. I was wondering if he was saving up his energy so that he could kick my butt in the end. Or if I should hold back and run with him. But I just wanted to do the best I could so I kept going. Not only did I finish the race but I ran the whole time. And not only did I run the whole time but I ran it in 58 minutes!!! That is faster than a 10 minute mile! I am so pumped! I ended up beating Josh by a minute and a half. This is the first time that I have ever beat him running. Sorry honey but it feels really good.

After the race we took the kids to six flags to the water park. It felt so good because it has been super hot here lately. Then we went to dinner at Pei Wei. It was our first time there and it was really good. We will definitely go back. We also went to the movies and saw The Proposal. Awesome! It was hilariously funny and such a good date movie. Josh loved it too.

Forced

The forced cheeser has begun with my sweet little Arlie. It is hard to get a natural smile out of her now that she has learned to smile on comand. I guess that it is all part of growing up. I love this little cheese ball!

Deacon is 9 months old!

I can't believe my baby is already 9 months old!!! It is going by way too fast and I just wish he could stay the way he is right now forever. He is so much fun and so sweet I just love him to death. It is so different this time. With Arlie I couldn't wait till she got to the next phase or stage and with Deacon I am not ready for him to grow up. I guess I feel like I just haven't had enough time to enjoy him as a baby. So I took him to his 9 month check up and he weighed 18 lbs. 13 oz and I don't remember his height but I know that he is 40% for height now and 25% for weight. It has gradually been dropping off. He started out 75% for height and 50% for weight. Also he has an abnormally large head for his body. His head is 92%. But that's ok he has a cute big head. Here are a few pictures I took of him today in the studio.

Can I just say I am dreading this. I have been putting off blogging because I know how long it is going to take. I have been super busy lately with photo shoots and trying to keep up with editing and the kids that I haven't had time to post or edit my own stuff lately. So today I decided to make time. I guess I will start by saying we had a great week with Josh off work. We went down to Annapolis and walked around down town and hung out at the docks, we went to Ocean City for a couple days and enjoyed the sun and water. We rented a boogie board and it was so much fun catching the waves. It reminded me of when we lived in Hawaii. I don't think I have boogie boarded since then. The kids had fun too. We also went to a place with Go carts and other fun things for the kids to do. We had a blast. And then we spent a day at six flags. We rode a few awesome roller coasters and then went to the water park to soak up the sun and cool off. The kids had a blast there too. Especially Deacon. He couldn't get enough of it. I took them with my little point and shoot camera so the quality is not as good. I was just wanting to see if it was even possible for me to get a good picture of the two of them together. It took a lot of tries to get what I did get. Now I just wish I would have used my nice camera and background. Arlie got her first hair cut. The other day. She did really good and enjoyed getting it cut. Here is a before and after pic. So I guess that is about it. We are enjoying the nice weather here. Oh and I joined weight watchers 3 weeks ago and am really excited about my progress. So far I have lost 6 lbs. Maybe I will finally be able to get back to what I weighed when I got married. We will see.

Here is a picture of Arlie in one of my new dresses for my prop box. I decided to let her wear it to church today. I guess I was too excited and wanted her to try it out. Josh is home and it is so nice to have him back. We missed him so much. We had a nice fourth of July even though he was not here and Arlie loved the fireworks. We haven't done anything too exciting since Josh got back accept we did go to a Baysox game. That was fun. We are planning on going to the beach tuesday and wednesday this week. Not sure which beach yet and then friday we are planning on going to six flags. I am sure I will take lots of pictures. We are enjoying our summer so far. The weather has been really nice this year, not too hot and not too humid. IT is going by way too fast though. Deacon is growing and changing so much everyday. I think he is going to be walking in about a month. He likes to stand up on things and then let go and stand all by himself all the time. I was walking with him holding his hands around the house and he stopped and pushed my hands away so that he could stand there all by himself. He also has a little push car that he has started pushing around and walking with. I am sure it won't be long.

Wow I can't believe Deacon is already 8 months old. It has gone by so fast. He is growing and changing so much. He is so much fun and he has such a sweet spirit. I am enjoying everyday I get to be with him. It is going to be over before I know it.

Trying to catch up

Wow it has been a really busy month so far and I haven't had any time to post about it. My mom and brother Travis came out and we had a really great time. It was so much fun spending time with them. We went to the National Zoo,

toured around DC,

went to the Temple,

went to Six Flags,

and celebrated Arlie's 3rd birthday.

I can't believe she is already three. First I will start this post out with a few pictures of my growing girl.
She was born June 8th, 2006. This picture was the day we left the hospital.

THe past three years have gone by fast and I can't believe I am now a mother of two. Arlie has been such a joy to have in our family. She is so funny and sweet. And I love the new things she comes up with everyday.
Thank you to my mom, Travis, and Alyssa for being here and celebrating my beautiful girls big day. Also thanks to Alyssa for making the yummy bday cake.

We also decided to plan a last minute party with a couple of friends. We got the slip and slide out and made princess crowns. THe kids had fun but it was a crazy party. I did a retarded thing and decided to show the kids how to use the slip and slide with my clothes on.
THis is what happened to me.

I told the kids to stand and watch and my neighbor kid came out of nowhere and I think I got a knee to the nose. IT doesn't look that bad in the picture but it was gushing blood and bled for a few hours. 2 weeks later and my nose is still tender. Also we had a glass plate fall off the island and shatter into a million pieces. It was like an explosion. So needless to say it was an eventful party. Good thing it was a small one. I took a lot of pictures while my family was here but I am just going to post a few of my favorites. Of course I had to get some nice pictures of my mom and my brother while they were here.

And here are a few fun ones from the zoo. A butterfly landed on Arlie at the Elephant exhibit and it drew just as much of a crowd as the elephants did. It really liked her and kept hoping from her hand to her shirt to her shoulder to her eye and then back on her hand until she finally blew it off. It was very pretty.

Memorial Weekend

We had a great Memorial weekend even though Josh wasn't here to spend it with us. People were nice and took pity on us and we were invited to a dinner or BBQ every night of the weekend. How awesome is that! The weekend kicked off with a 5k race saturday morning. I haven't ran in a race since before I had Arlie. It felt really good to get out there and do it. And I can't wait for the next one. I came in with a time of 31:30. Which for me at this point is really good. It was fun to run with friends too. After that we went to the pool. It was the first day of it being open. The kids had fun but the water was a bit cold so we didn't stay too long. I got a couple of pics of them but not any in the pool. I was too busy watching them to worry about a picture.

We are doing ok without Josh here but we do miss him a lot. Alyssa's birthday was on Monday and we went to Olive Garden for Lunch and then walked around a greenbelt near the Columbia Mall. We also had to stop and do a little shopping. I have been having a cupcake fetish lately and went to william sonoma and got a package of Sprinkles cupcakes to make for Alyssa's B-day. Yummy red velvet cupcakes. They were pretty much amazing.
Our good friends Aaron and Miranda Clark are in town visiting so I got the chance to hang out with them this week as well as take their baby's pictures. He is absolutely adorable! Maybe one of the cutest babies I have ever photographed.
My mom and my brother are coming out to visit next week. I am so excited to see them!!! It is going to be so much fun to just have them here. Yay!!!

So I got some new backgrounds for my studio that I am totally in love with. And I also got a neat wood floor from lowes to put in my studio as well. I am totally loving the look that it is giving me. I just had to post. I know the pic of Arlie with the wood floor is not the best pic of her. She really didn't want her picture taken. Just look at the floor and the background.
Also in other news- Deacon is getting 4 more teeth!!! All on top. Crazy! And Josh is leaving this week for another deployment and won't be home till 4th of July. Bummer. We will miss him.

So I finally got around to downloading my little camera and realized there is a lot of stuff I haven't blogged about. Like we did actually celebrate Easter. Josh was gone but we had fun coloring eggs and having our own little Easter Egg Hunt. We also went to a base Easter Egg Hunt that got rained out and it turned out to be totally lame but I got a picture of Arlie and her two good friends Libby and Alora while we waited for them to hand out eggs.

We also said goodbye to our friends the Clark's. My good friend Marin left for the summer but will hopefully be back by September. Her husband deployed to Iraq so she left to stay with family while he is gone. We miss them tons. Arlie misses Libby a lot too. She keeps asking about her and acts all surprised when I tell her she moved. So sad. We went out to dinner a couple nights before they left. Here are a couple pics from that.

Also we enjoyed a fun night a bowling with the Kingery's a while back and here are some pictures from that night. Arlie had a blast bowling and hanging out with Alora.

Josh and I celebrated my birthday a couple weeks ago as well. He surprised me by taking me shopping at the outlets on the other side of the Bay bridge about an hour away from here without kids. After shopping we went to dinner at a fancy steak and seafood resturant called Annies. It was delicious and had a beautiful view of the water.

After a wonderful dinner he surprised me with a hotel room! I was totally surprised that he was able to keep it a secret. He packed a small bag for us and made plans for his sister to watch the kids for us. Thank you Alyssa for letting us have this time away. It was so nice to spend the time with him alone since he had just gotten back from his deployment. The next morning we decided to stop at Sandy point beach on the way back home and take a walk along the beach. It was so much fun. I got some really pretty pictures of the beautiful bay bridge with my little camera and was able to turn them into awesome images.

There were tons of these in the water everywhere! Jellyfish.

In other news, I also took Deacon's Pictures today for his six month shoot. I can't believe he is already six months old. It has gone by so fast. He is such a joy to have in our little family. He is always so smiley and happy. Lately he has been enjoying the sound of his own voice and has gotten pretty loud. He probably learned it from Arlie. He is sitting up on his own now and rolling all over the place. He has recently started trying to scoot around a little too. So cute.

So I decided to make a tutu for Arlie and well for me too for my business. I just finished it this morning and Arlie was begging me to take her picture in it. So here is the finished project. I will have to take some more pictures so you can see more of the tutu. I looked it up on youtube on how to make it. Pretty simple and self explanitory. I have some material to make a top too but I haven't got that done yet.
Needless to say I am no longer spending $35.00 on a tutu for some boutique when I can make it myself for $5.00. Yay for me for saving money. Also I just bought that chair. Totally love it! Home Goods rocks!

So I went to a Sandy Puc's Tots to Teens photography seminar last night and it got me all pumped up and excited to play around in my own studio. So I took some pictures of Arlie and practiced my techniques I learned on her. I think it worked pretty well. It was a lot of fun. Here are a few of my favorites. Also a quick pic of her painting. She loves to paint.

Josh is gone again. He will supposedly be back a day or two before my birthday. We will see. We miss him alot and can't wait till he comes home but it sure has been nice to have Alyssa around to talk to and help out with things. I don't know what I would do without her. My mother in law came to visit this past week and so my family went on a trip to upstate New York-Palmyra to see the church history sites, Niagra Falls, and also did some touring around D.C. So here are some fun pictures from our adventure. I also went to a really great photoshop seminar tonight and learned a whole bunch of cool stuff. So it is now 2:00am and I am still up playing around with it all. So here is what I have been up to this past week. Sorry about all of the pictures of me. I haven't been too busy shooting others so I have resorted to shooting my sister in law and myself a lot. There will be more pictures to come. I haven't got around to going through many pictures from our trip to Palmyra. So these are mostly just the pictures that were fun for me to play with my new photoshop techniques. Look who has a tooth!! Can you believe it? He is only four months old. My baby is growing so fast!

Well we did it! Josh re-enlisted on friday for another 6 years. So I guess we are locked in now and planning on sticking it out till retirement. I am glad to have made a decision and I feel good about the decision we made even though it wasn't what I initially wanted. All is well and we are looking forward to what the future brings for us.

Deacon is now four months old. We went to his check up and he is 60% for height and 50% for weight. He has dropped 15% in height since his 2 month checkup. I know it is inevitable that he is going to be short but I keep hoping that he will end up taller than Josh and I some day. I just think life would be a little easier on him if he was. He weighed 14 pounds and 14 oz. and his height was 25 1/4 inches tall. I took these pictures of him the other day. A friend of mine from when we lived in Misawa sent him this cute new outfit so I had to take pics of him for her in it. Thanks Rachel! That was so sweet and unexpected! All is going well for us here. Josh's big day to re-enlist is tomorrow! Yippee I guess.

So it has been snowing all night and so far all day today and so Josh got out of work today. I love snow days on the east coast. We actually got a lot of snow. Like at least 6 inches. Deacon's First Hair Cut

So yesterday we decided to cut Deacon's hair for some reason. Mostly out of bordom. But I guess I thought his hair was getting too long on top. It had rubbed off mostly on the sides and I thought he looked kinda silly with his little poof on top. So here are the results of his new hair cut. Afterward I thought for a minute what were we thinking when I gathered all of his hair and put it in a baggy for keepsake. I felt a little sad to see his baby hair go. But I think he looks pretty cute now. It is a little shorter than I was thinking but thats ok. He looks so different now.

Gymnastics and other random stuff

So I signed Arlie up for gymnastics a couple of weeks ago and she absolutely loves it. It is so fun to watch her learn and follow her teacher. She is so fun to watch and see how much fun she is having with it. Every day now she asks me if she gets to go to gymnastics and when it is that day she jumps up and down for and says yeah!!! I love gymnastics.
So pretty much this post is for the grandparents. I know all these videos are a little long and boring for most people. I guess it has to be your kid or grandkid to really enjoy it.
This first one and second one are of her during warm-up. I wish I could have gotten more of her on the bars and the trampoline but I had to help her on the bars some and Deacon pooped during trampoline time so I had to take care of that.
Oh and something funny she said today:
We were on our way to walmart to pick up a few things and on the way there you pass the mall. My sister-in-law Alyssa works there at American Eagle. She was saying Hey look mom Alyssa's work. I love Alyssa's work.

Deacon is 3 months old now. I can't believe how fast time is flying by with him. He is growing a lot and getting such a cute little personality. So the other day I was getting ready for church. I was putting my make up on and plucking my eye brows. Arlie thinks she has to sit in the sink while I do this every morning. She likes to brush her teeth (with dad's toothbrush) sorry Josh, play with my lip gloss and whatever else is lying around. She always wants me to put make up on her too but I rarely do. Well this morning while she was sitting right next to me, I got too preoccupied with plucking that I didn't notice her pull out my mascara and proceed to try and put in on her eyes just how she sees me do it everyday. Yesterday I wanted to spend some quality time with Arlie while Deacon was down for a nap. So we had a tea party in her room. She had a lot of fun eating lucky charms and drinking water up in her room with her little tea set. Now today she is sick. I think she has got some sort of stomach bug. I got no sleep last night. I went to bed just before midnight and got up at 2 with Deacon and then got up with Arlie at 4 with her puking all over the place. And didn't get to go back to bed because she kept puking and then Deacon woke up to eat again and then he had a nasty blow out. And Arlie has been puking all day today too. No fun! Needless to say I am still in my pjs and haven't got much done but laundry and taking care of the kids. But somehow I found time to blog. Hmm... maybe it just sounded better than everything else I've been doing today. I had a really fun weekend last weekend. I went with a big group of girlfriends to a cabin for 3 days and 3 nights of scrapbooking and gabbing. It was so fun to get away and feel young again. It was a nice retreat and helped rejuvinate me. Thanks for all the fun ladies and for inviting me along this year. I can't wait till next year. There was about 17 of us. I also enjoyed my pringles when I got home. I was in 7th heaven!! LOL!!!

Here are a few pictures of Deacon now that he is 2 months old. We go to the doctor later today and we will see how he is growing. I wanted to take some pictures of him now since he is starting to smile all the time now. It is so much fun to see his little personality come out. It is nice to be back to normal life. Hopefully we will be able to get on a schedule now and I can get more organized. We had a really nice Christmas and New Years celebrated with good friends. Hope you all had a great Holiday. Well, we finally went snowboarding on the east coast. At a resort called Whitetail. It was nice to get out together with out the kids. (Alyssa got hooked up for the day!) The resort was quite different than Misawa's ski resorts as you can see. The top two pics are from Misawa the bottom two are from here. If that is all the snow they had out west the resort would never open. It was our first time sking on only man made snow. We had a blast just having the day to ourselves.

So I was going to wait till I got all of my birth announcements out before I posted these pictures but I just couldn't wait anymore. He is just too cute and I love how they turned out. Josh and I took these pictures about a week ago. By the way, I am feeling much better. I just got out of the hospital yesterday after having a D&C done on saturday. I lost a lot of blood during the procedure and so I had to stay overnight to have a blood transfusion. But hopefully things will get better for me from here on out. I have been really sick the past couple weeks since I had him due to left over placenta that did not come out during delivery. So hopefully it is all taken care of and I will feel well enough to fly home to Idaho on wednesday. My brother Scott is getting married this saturday and my step brother Dylan is getting married two weeks later. I am so excited to be there for both weddings and Thanksgiving in between. It will be nice for everyone to be able to see Deacon while he is still so small too. THANK YOU to everyone who has done so much for our family over the past couple weeks. The meals have been so good and so nice and thank you Slavka and Lindsey for watching Arlie for me so much. I truly feel so blessed to have people in my life that care so much and are so willing to help. It means so much to me. Well hope you all like the pics. I do but I am a little byist. Love to all.

Here are a couple more. This was as soon as we got home from the hospital. Arlie was so excited to see Deacon and couldn't wait to hold him. And anytime someone stops by the house she can't wait to show him off. She gets so excited and says hurry come see look and points to the baby. It is so cute. Hopefully it stays that way. We are already having problems with the potty though. It is like pulling teeth to get her to go now. And I guess while we were gone she had lots of accidents. I hope it gets better instead of worse.

Tiff gave birth to Deacon Joshua at 0603 on Sunday November 2nd...Both her and baby are now doing great. He is a beautiful baby boy; although, these pictures are rather scary. Sorry I don't have Tiff's photo editing skills. Here is the story...
So on Saturday...Tiff decided she was going to have the baby and went out for a walk/jog/jump. Well it didn't work but in the process she slipped and fell. Later on in the day we decided it was best to get checked out just to make sure all was ok. So we went to the hospital around 5pm. They checked her out and said she was good to go. Well then the on-call doc came in and checked her and said she was dilated to a 4 and she wanted to induce her that night. She was induce at about 10 P.M....YEAH for staying up all night.

No baby yet! I went to the Dr. today and I am only dilated to between a 1 and a 2. And I am not effaced at all and he said that the baby has not dropped yet. How depressing. He stripped my membranes so we will see if that does anything for me or not. So far nothing. I have a feeling I am going to have to be induced again. I should just plan on not having the baby till late next week when they decide to induce me. And then if he comes earlier that will be a bonus. So that is what is going on. I will update as soon as he comes. Wish me luck.

Today as a family we went to enjoy some fall festivities with our friends the Weaver's. It was so much fun. We went to Summer's Farm in Fredrick. There was a really fun slide, inflatable jumping pad, horse rides, corn maze, pumpkin patch, tractor rides, fun mazes for kids, and all sorts of fun things for the kids to do. It was so much fun to see how much fun Arlie was having. She had a perma smile the entire time we were there. We ate lunch there and I bought some yummy pumpkin bread and an apple dumpling to bring home. It was delicious. I love fall time activities. Last year was so much fun we had to do it again but this farm was so much better.
Still no baby. I am 38 weeks today. I wonder when he will come. I was a little nervous going so far away just in case I went into labor but all was fine. I am really hoping he comes this week sometime but knowing my luck he will probably be late. I just hope I don't have to be induced again. We will see what they say at my next appointment which is on wednesday. My last apointment he said I was right on track. But he didn't check me. So we will see I guess.

Chief's Celebration

I am so proud of Josh and his accomplishments. He looks pretty tired in these pictures after being up for about 48 hours straight. We are so glad it is over. And yes it will take a while to get used to how he looks in his new hat. It is hard not to laugh and also hard to take him seriously.

Summer recap

Josh and I went to Ocean city this summer for a weekend getaway. It was nice to just go to the beach for the weekend and spend some quality time together as a family. We had a really good time. I of course brought my camera along and took some pictures. Other than that I think I blogged all of our other fun summer events. I got back from Idaho about three weeks ago and it has been crazy busy trying to get settled back in. Josh is just now finishing up his Chief's training crap that he has been going through for the past six weeks and I will finally have him back around here spending time with us. Tonight they have an all night long training session which is pretty much big time initiation crap. I know they are going swimming in the lake and in the middle of the night and who knows what else they will have them do. But after that is all said and done he will pin on his anchors tomorrow night and become a Chief Petty Officer. We are so excited for this process to be over. I will take pics of the pinning ceremony tomorrow night and post them for you all to see how goofy he looks in his new hat. But we are very proud of him. Not too much else going on around here. Just 7 weeks to go with this pregnancy. I am already ready to be done. That is not good. We are looking forward to baby Deacon joining our family. Hope all is going well for everyone else.

I am here in Idaho for my brother's wedding. It turned out really nice accept for the rain. I will post more pics of that later. Fourth of July and More

Well me made it back from our trip to IF. We had a really great time and enjoyed seeing all of the family. I wish I would have had more time but luckily I get to go back in a few weeks for my step brother Logan's wedding. I am photographing his wedding and I am really excited about it. This past trip was a real work trip. Three of my brothers are getting married and so I did all of their engagement photos. I did a pre-bridal session and my other step brother Andy and his wife Megan just had a baby and so I got to do a baby session too. It was a lot of fun and I got some really great images. It was fun to be there over the fourth and be able to celebrate with my family. We went to the parade in the morning and had a BBQ that afternoon. And another BBQ with my brothers Travis and Scott and their friends that evening. We ate a ton of good food. Instead of going to the fireworks in IF like I had planned, I ended up staying in Rexburg where my grandparents put on quite a show of fireworks. It was better than a lot of small town firework shows. And since Arlie is going through this fear stage we were able to sit in the car with my aunt Candice and her daughter and watch them through her sunroof. Maybe next year she will be better about the fireworks. I also got to go to my dad's cabin for a few days and spend some time at the lake. It was a lot of fun and Arlie loved going in the boat. She had a blast. My dad had a couple segways up there too and she had a blast riding that around with the help of Grandma and Aunt Allie.

She also loved playing in the water and had so much fun swimming with uncle Dylan. Here is another picture of her and Aunt Annie chilling on the boat dock.

My grandpa Henderson is in the hospital right now with some very serious injuries and we are praying that he pulls through with a full recovery but right now it is unknown what his fate will be. I had a chance to visit him in the hospital a couple of times and it was so sad for me to see him in the shape he was in. I guess whatever is meant to happen will happen. I just hate to see him suffer like this.

So I didn't get a chance to visit with too many friends. Sorry guys. It really was a crazy busy trip. And I really was planning on being there for the friend reunion but things came up last minute and I was unable to make it. It sounds like you guys had a lot of fun though. I did get to run into Katie Larson and Steph Sommers and it was so nice to see them.

I also got some gorgeous shots during the prebridal session but I will not be loading these until after the wedding because my brother is not allowed to see her in her wedding dress.

Well for all the people that have been wanting to see my growing belly this is for you. Mostly for you Jess. We decided to do a totally impromptu shoot and I wasn't planning on getting my picture taken so that is why I am looking so crappy. Josh took these pictures and I cleaned them up a little. We were out on a walk and Arlie fell asleep so here is a pic of her sleeping. I think she still looks so precious.

It's a Boy!!!

Josh and I went in for the ultrasound yesterday and we are excited to announce that we are having a boy! Both of us are totally thrilled. Now I can finally go shopping! I can't wait. Next week I leave for Idaho and will be there until the fifth of July. So all you people coming to Idaho for the fourth, give me a call.
Anyway, I just wanted to share the good news with all of you.

Ok so I know I am totally terrible at keeping up with this blog. But I still wanted to share with you all some pictures and highlights of Arlie's birthday. Since Arlie is only 2 we ended up just having a lot of friends over for a BBQ to celebrate. It was a wild and crazy party. I don't know what we were thinking having 30 people in our house. But it was still fun to have everyone there. After we ate we sang happy birthday and had some cake. Just as I was serving cake up for everyone and before Arlie had even tried her cake, she threw up all over the place. We had to put her straight in the bath tub. Right before the party I noticed she wasn't feeling well. She developed a cough and had a little fever. But I had already gotten everything ready for the party so I didn't want to cancel. So sorry to everyone that came. I hope you and your kids didn't get sick or anything. Then we tried to have her open her presents. A combination of not feeling well, being tired, and being 2 all made this very difficult. She opened her first present and she got coloring books and crayons. She wanted to go straight to coloring. She didn't even want to open another present. She refused. We finally got her to open a couple more but that was it. She got a bubble gun and would not let go of it. And it was all over after that. So we decided to save the rest of her presents for later. We ended the party with a pinata for the kids. Arlie was pretty fussy the majority of the time so that made it difficult. And I swear, as soon as she turned 2 I have been wondering what happened to my sweet little baby. The terrible twos have arrived and it is in full swing!

A Fun Day

Today has been one of those really fun days that don't come around too often. Josh had the day off today since he just got back this past weekend. We decided to take Arlie to the Baltimore Aquarium. We headed to Baltimore and ate lunch at California Pizza Kitchen. Love that place! And then we went to the Aquarium. It has been a few months since we last went so it was all like new again for Arlie. She loved it. Especially going up the escalators all by herself. She thought that was pretty cool. We came home and Arlie took a short nap. After that we decided to go to the pool to relax and enjoy the nice weather. It was so much fun. Arlie loves the pool and could stay all day if we let her. Then we came home, cleaned up and had a nice dinner of shrimp and baked potatos and corn. And then we spent the rest of the evening outside playing with the neighbors until 9:00 pm. What a day. I am pooped. Anyway here are some pictures of our day. Once again these were taken with my little camera so the quality is not that great. It is just so much easier to take that one places.
Oh and by the way, I am finding out on June 18th what I am having. I think it is going to be another girl. This pregnancy so far has been exactly the same as when I was pregnant with Arlie. And I think I am even carrying the same. I guess we will see. Who knows. I have had a few dreams that it is a boy and for some reason imagine painting the room blue but maybe that is all hopeful thinking. Either way I will be happy.

Ok I know it has been forever since I posted last. I guess a lot has happened in the past month. I turned 26 on the 26th of April and was able to celebrate it with my parents. They came out for a few days to see me and the fam for my b-day. It was so nice to have them here. The trip went by so fast but we sure did a lot in that small amount of time. I forgot my camera the first day of touring around and the second day I just brought my point and shoot little one so the pics aren't anything great. The first day we went to the Museum of Art and saw famous paintings by people like Picasso, Rembrandt, Van Gogh, and Monet. I will have to say I like Rembrandt's work the best. It was neat to see. We also went to the Natural History Museum. This place was really cool. It had all sorts of dinosour bones and rare stones including the Hope diamond. We went to the Archives and saw the Declaration of Independance, Bill of Rights, and the Constitution. On the second day, we went and saw the Capitol Building, the White House, all the monuments, and Arlington Cemetary. Arlington cemetary was really neat. Anyway, that was pretty much all of our touring around. For my B-Day dinner we went to a resturant called the Melting Pot. It was a fondue resturant that was absolutely delicious. Anyway we had a really good time with my parents while they were here and can't wait to see them again this summer.
Other news, Josh's sister Alyssa moved out here with us for the summer. She has been here a little over a week now. It has been really nice to have her around plus she has been a really big help around the house. My house has not looked this clean since before I had kids. Arlie loves having her here too. She calls her Afeefa and they are good buddies. Josh is gone again. He left about a week ago. He will be back in a couple weeks. It definitely has not been as bad this time. For one, I have someone to hang out with all the time now that his sister is here. And two, all the morning sickness is gone!!! Yeah!!! I am so happy. We will be finding out what I am having here in a couple of weeks so stay tuned for that update.
Also today is my brother Scott's 22nd birthday! Happy Birthday Scott! I love you man. I can't believe how old he is. Time sure goes by.
Hope all is going well for everyone. We miss you all! See all you Idahoans here in about a month.

Nice Weather

We have been having such nice weather here lately. I am so excited for spring. So we have been spending a lot of time outside lately. My next door neighbors have a bouncy castle so we set it up the other day and let the kids play. They had a blast. Arlie is especially loving the nice weather. If she could she would stay outside all day. Here are some pics of Arlie playing in the bouncy castle. Her face looks a little rough because I put sunscreen on her and she rubbed her eyes and got it in her eyes. She does this every time I put sunscreen on her. Am I doing something wrong?

Cherry Blossoms

Ok so here are the pictures from the Cherry Blossom Festival. We had such a good time seeing the sights and enjoying the nice weather and the beautiful Cherry Blossoms. It was so fun to get out with friends too. I wouldn't have done it by myself that is for sure and Josh is not much of a fan of the big city life with crowds of people. So if it weren't for them I probably wouldn't have gotten to go. So thank you.

This was the only picture I got of Arlie on Easter. Can you believe it? And we even went to a couple of Easter egg hunts and I forgot my camera. I am going to have to take some more pictures of her in her Easter dress though because she just looked so cute in it. So hopefully there will be more to come if I get around to it. Josh is finally home!!!! Yeah!!! Ok so he has been home now for a couple of weeks and I have just been preoccupied with other things including him to take the time to blog. It is so nice to have him back. It makes me see how much I really do love him and love having him around. More pictures to come. We went to the Cherry Blossom Festival down in DC yesterday and had a picnic. It was so much fun. I took tons of pictures.
